ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for NORTHROP GRUMMAN WAREHOUSE EXPANSION will be received by the Tishomingo County Board of Supervisors until 10 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2023 and then publicly opened and read aloud for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary to complete the Project.

Contract documents, including drawings and specifications, may be examined at the office of Dean McRae Engineering, Inc., located at 308 Grisham Street, Iuka, Mississippi. Bid documents are being made available via original paper copy or electronically. Planholders are required to login or register for an account at www.deanmcraeplans.com to view and order bid documents. All planholders are required to have a valid email address for registration. The overall scope of work consists of adding an additional 21,100 square feet to an existing warehouse, including all mechanical, electrical and sitework, and other miscellaneous items. This description is intended to show the general nature of the work; actual work items shall be as defined in the contract documents.

Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside “NORTHROP GRUMMAN WAREHOUSE EXPANSION”. Any bid more than $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor’s current certificate of responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000.

A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to the Tishomingo County Board of Supervisors shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid.

In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors actually domiciled in Mississippi, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident. When a nonresident contractor submits a bid for a public project, he shall attach thereto a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of nonresident contractors. Any bid submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor's current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.

This project is being funded in part by a DIP grant and is subject to the rules and regulations thereof.

Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and or supply needs.
